The Arlington Libraries Foundation’s Annual Appeal is the way that your private donations make possible a tremendous array of materials and services, over and above what is available through municipal budget dollars. To cite just some of the advantages delivered thanks to last year’s appeal, the Foundation provided grants that:
- Fully fund the incredibly popular Hoopla on-line service, providing unlimited simultaneous access to downloadable and streaming content
- Enable additional children’s librarian staffing on Sundays
- Keep the selection of travel guides current, plentiful, and varied—meeting high patron demand
- Cover 90% of the cost of e-content (over 600,000 e-books and audiobooks) that exceeds what’s available through the Minuteman Library Network—an exclusive benefit to Arlington residents
- Provide 20% of the Fox Branch Library’s budget for new materials
- Substantially increase the selection of high-quality documentaries and other non-fiction DVDs, which are free to borrowers
